Residents day is way to bring together those dj’s who’s involvement with Sundae goes deeper than the occasional gig. They are the dj’s we turn to when we need someone we can trust to run the show , those who we turn to for inspiration, those who have been there with support from the very beginning, and of course the dj’s who deliver the perfect Sundae sound time and time again. This week Benn Hopkins and Brian Damms will join myself (CoolhandLuke) and Chantal for an afternoon of music and mayhem. . See you in the Sunshine!
On a different note our thoughts and prayers are with our friends in Philadelphia as they deal with the loss of a close friend and Philadelphian DJ legend Randy Flash, if you are in Philadelphia and can make it please do as all the money raised through the benefit will be given directly to the mother of Randy Flash Lee Jones and others close to Randy have brought this together out of the goodness of there hearts as a celebration of a life that has cast out positive energy to all those who had the pleasure to be in his company. God bless Randy Flash as well as his family and friends.
DJ & promotion front man of the highly successful Zuri outfit plays Sundae this week. This guy has been around the dj scene a long time and has the musical history, skills and genre hopping ability to prove it. As a young man he was one of the hardest working DJ’s in Brisbane which resulted in multiple residencies, supports (too numerous to mention), playing throughout Australia and an eventual move to Shanghai, China in 2004. Apart from his DJ skills his unique image and individuality are legendary and this comes across in the music he plays. Matt says he’s looking forward to his Sundae gig, not just for the river vibe but also for the fact he’s able to bring along his Rottweiler Techas to the gig, where else but Sundae! . See you in the Sunshine!
Originally from Melbourne Danny is now well established in the Brisbane music scene and in his time here has proven he has the versatility and crowd pleasing ability it takes to keep him busy behind the turntables of numerous clubs and events around town. With an eclectic bag of tricks including 70s funk and soul, golden era hip-hop, reggae, disco grinding jiggy and everything in between and for Sundae all played on vinyl which has brought him respect from DJ’s and regulars alike Many of you may have noticed that record players are still the focus of the DJ booth at Sundae so we are proud to welcome another self confessed vinyl addict to the comfort of the 1200’s. See you in the sunshine!
